& now for the good news...

Boy! How Red grew over the weekend while I was in hospital! He is really trying hard to talk and spontaneously points to dogs and cars and says "the car" or "the dog". Last night Claire came over and said that something was stuck and he kept saying "stuck" all night, and this morning when I was telling this to mum this story he started saying stuck over and over again. I cannot believe how much he appears to have changed behaviourly over the weekend and how he appears to be physically bigger and more developed as well. He has moments of the little green monster, and doesn't respond well when Karl picks up Isabel or when she has something of his (a blanket or dummy) but he does appear to like her. He gives her unprompted kisses and likes to point at her nose or eyes and then at his own. He has reverted to using the dummy a lot more over the past few days, we had managed to cut it back to only bed times but we've allowed him to have it back a bit more and he seems a little less sooky.

Isabel is doing fantastically. She's feeding really well and we, Karl and I, are in LOVE. I was worried that we wouldn't be able to love both of them but we do, as everybody assured us we would. Isabel is very different from Redmond in many ways but she's very easy to look after too; I'm not sure if that is her or if that is parenting for the 2nd time.

Issy is now awake and looking for booby so I'm going to hit the road.

But just quickly before I do I received a call on Monday (and again today) from my new employer and they are definately going to employ me, at a much higher level than I am currently and at a much higher rate of pay (and perks!). And there has been a very little bit of movement on the home ownership front (we might be moving back to Watsonia... but at this stage we are really right at the very start of this part of our lives) so gotta say that this is really looking to be my month!

Hope you are all well, or as well as can be expected under the circumstances. And next time we speak I'll tell y'all about having an "elective" C-section and how different it is to having an emergency one.

Hoping to see you on Friday at Kate's place.

Love Deb
