Swimming

Hello again (and for the final time tonight).

Sarina mentioned a long time ago that perhaps the boys could take the bubs to swimming lessons. Great idea!!

We will be gathering some info from a number of different swim schools over the next few days about classes, terms, times and cost. But in the mean time can you please let us know if your hubby would like to join in too. (this list is in no particular order, just went around the suburb in my head, and I hope I have got the right names and parings... if not, I'm blaming pregnesia!)

Stewart & Lily - Yes
Karl & Red - Yes
Shannon & Max -
Jeff & Gracie -
Trav & Deakin - Yes
Matt & Charlie -
Mark & Charlotte -
Ash & Axel -
Dave & Molly - No

Ivanhoe and Eltham pools - only Monday to Friday daytime classes.
Yarra Plenty Swim School in Greensborough - I am waiting a call back.

Van Dyks in Greensborough - they offer 30 minute Seahorse Nursery Classes on Saturdays based on the physical developmental stage of each child (walking or not). They will also run a mixed group for us, depending on how many attend. Here's the biggy tho... 5 weeks = $82.30 ($11 disc if you pay the day before class) or 10wks = $152.80 ($22 discount).

The alternative is that Lauren and I went to the Eltham swimming pool this morning and hung out in the toddler pool for two hours and it cost $5. There's shallow bits for the kids to sit and splash in and there were deeper bits (1.1m) where we could walk and float them in the water (Max even knows how to kick his legs). Ivanhoe pool is $4 per swim. Now with this option, while it is a hell of a lot cheaper it won't teach them to swim properly but maybe there are ways around this... like someone going to watch a swimming lesson class one day and us replicating it, and I think that famous swimming coach fellow (I will think of his name later) released a video about how to teach your kids to swim... I'll investigate.

Cheers
Deb
